ITF publishes its report on Chile’s port policy, which is strategic for a country largely dependent on maritime trade
While Chilean ports appear to work quite well, land transport remains a sensitive point, particularly the congestion in the country's main port cities. They do not receive enough financial returns, particularly through tax revenues, from port activities. One of the 8 recommendations in the report refers explicitly to strengthening all aspects of port-city relations
A recent ITF report "data-Driven Transport Policy" examines how the abundant data available can help policy makers to set frameworks that deliver better transsport services according to Sharon Masterson, Manager of the Corporate Partnership Board of ITF.
